Book project: A Letter Full of Love to an Unknown Person

A Letter Full of Love to an Unknown Person is a community-based writing and healing project for LGBTQIA+ refugees living in Amsterdam. Through five guided workshops, participants are invited to write letters as a way to share their stories, reflect on their experiences, and connect with others in a safe and affirming space.

For LGBTQIA+ refugees, the journey toward belonging often starts with the urgent need for safety. Many have fled countries where being LGBTQIA+ means living under threat—from family rejection to state violence. But arriving in a new country doesn’t automatically mean feeling safe: discrimination, harassment, or isolation can still be part of daily life

Home & Belonging: Building Safe Spaces Together

Together with queer refugees, local community members, and representatives from the Municipality of Amsterdam Noord, we will share stories, enjoy a communal dinner, and explore how we can co-create a more inclusive city for all.
